Brk-PorrOats-01

Trust me, I am not a big porridge fan in general. I think it comes from when I was a child and my mum used to make porridge which was quite bland and didn’t really taste of anything. But things have changed since I got older and wiser. Now, I love to make this oat porridge with some nuts or fruit with a bit of cinnamon sprinkled over it. You can really “jazz” it up with stuff that you love to eat.

Oat Porridge

Ingredients:

  • 175 g (6 0z) gluten-free porridge oats
  • 250 ml (9 fl oz) rice, sesame, or almond milk
  • 250 ml (9 fl oz) water
  • 4 tsps. (20 ml) manuka honey or maple syrup
  • Optional: handful of raisins, chopped dates, or any fruits of your choice

Instructions:

  1. Mix the oats, milk, and water in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to the boil and simmer for approximately 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Serve with honey or maple syrup and raisins or fruits if you wish.

Note: you might have to cook the oats for a bit longer, depending on how soft you like it to be.
