This is another one of my favourite smoothie recipes. It is so easy to make and quite refreshing. You can also experiment with different greens if you like. Adding ginger to this recipe is a great anti-inflammatory powerhouse. Studies have shown that regular consumption of ginger may help to burn fat and balance glucose levels within the body.

Apple-Cucumber Smoothie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. or 40-45g of collard greens
  • 1 apple – chopped
  • 1 mini cucumber – chopped
  • 1 lemon – peeled
  • 1/2 an inch of ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of ice

Instructions:

  1. Add the water and ice to your blender.
  2. Squeeze in 1 lemon with a citrus juicer.
  3. Chop 1 apple and 1 mini cucumber into small pieces and add to your blender.
  4. Add 1/2 an inch of ginger cut into small pieces.
  5. Add 1 tablespoon of sunflower seeds.
  6. Blend all the ingredients thoroughly. Pour and drink within 15 minutes.
